in Suriyawan, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, as the youngest among four siblings in a

by his passion for cricket, he moved to Mumbai to train at the iconic Azad

Jaiswal's breakthrough
came in 2015 when he scored an unbeaten 319 and took 13 wickets for 99 runs in
a Giles Shield match—a unique all-round record in Indian school cricket.
He went on to represent
Mumbai under-16 and India under-19 teams, shining in tournaments such as:
- 2018 Under-19 Asia Cup: 318 runs, Player of
the Tournament
- Youth Test against South Africa: 173 runs

Yashasvi made his
first-class debut for Mumbai during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. In 2019, he made
headlines during the Vijay Hazare Trophy by scoring 203 off 154 balls against
Jharkhand. At 17 years and 292 days, he became the youngest double centurion in
List A cricket. His innings, laced with 17 fours and 12 sixes, made him one of
the top run-scorers of the tournament.
He accumulated 564 runs
in six matches with a phenomenal average of 112.80. This performance earned him
a place in the India B squad for the Deodhar Trophy.
IPL Career: Making a Mark
with Rajasthan Royals
Jaiswal was picked by
Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL auction. Although he didn’t play in the 2020
season, he got his chance in 2021. He scored his maiden IPL fifty against
Chennai Super Kings, which was the second-fastest fifty for the franchise at
the time.
In 2023, he scored a
stunning 124 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Later in the
season, he hit the fastest fifty in IPL history in just 13 balls against
Kolkata Knight Riders. He ended IPL 2023 as RR's top run-getter with 625 runs
in 14 matches.
The 2024 IPL season saw
him score a match-winning unbeaten 104 against Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals
made it to the playoffs but lost in the semi-final to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
India Debut and
International Stardom
Jaiswal made his Test
debut in July 2023 against West Indies, scoring 171 in his first innings. He
was awarded the Player of the Match for his extraordinary performance. His T20I
debut followed in August 2023, and in the very next match, he scored an unbeaten
84 off 51 balls, forming a 165-run partnership with Shubman Gill.
During the 2024 England
Test series, Jaiswal lit up the stage:
